About the role
Our backend processes 50M+ messages a month across WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram and voice. You'll own the services that route, persist and stream them.
We use a polyglot stack, Go for hot paths, Node and Python for product surfaces, Postgres + Redis + ClickHouse for storage. You'll have opinions about all of it.
Strong preference for engineers who care about both correctness and shipping speed. We move fast but never on top of broken foundations.
What you'll do
Design, build and operate platform services (messaging, agents, integrations)
Own performance and reliability of mission-critical paths
Build APIs that other teams (and external developers) love using
Mentor engineers on system design and code review
On-call rotation (1 week every 6)
What we're looking for
5+ years backend engineering at a high-throughput product
Expert in at least one of: Go, Node, Python
Strong with PostgreSQL, Redis and at least one queue (Kafka, NATS)
Have shipped and operated production services with paging incidents
Care about API design, developer experience and observability
