Connecting Your Telegram Bot

Overview

Telegram bots provide an excellent way to reach your audience on one of the most popular messaging platforms. Connecting your agent to a Telegram bot allows you to automate conversations with your customers on Telegram.

Step-by-step connection process

1. Navigate to the Channels tab in your dashboard
2. Select the agent you want to connect to Telegram
3. Click the Telegram tab (it should be the first option)
4. Read the brief instructions provided on the interface

Creating a Telegram bot

1. Open Telegram and search for "BotFather" (@BotFather)
2. Start a chat with BotFather
3. Send the command /newbot to create a new bot
4. Follow BotFather's instructions to name your bot
5. After creation, BotFather will provide you with an API token

Connecting the bot to MyChatBot

1. Copy the API token provided by BotFather
2. Paste the token into the designated field in the MyChatBot Telegram channel settings
3. Click "Save Changes" or "Connect"

Important notes

Each Telegram bot token can only be used once. If you see an error message when trying to connect, ensure the token hasn't been used with another service. Your bot will immediately begin responding to messages once connected.
