Introduction
Welcome to MyChatBot. The fastest way to get value is to connect your first channel and route messages to a working AI agent. This guide walks through three of the most common channels, WhatsApp Business, Instagram and Telegram. By the end, you'll have an inbound message routed to an agent and a reply sent back.
Estimated time: 12 minutes. You'll need administrator access to your messaging account and a MyChatBot account (free tier works).
Connecting WhatsApp Business
WhatsApp Business is the most popular channel for our customers. There are two paths: WhatsApp Business API (for verified businesses, no phone needed) and WhatsApp Personal (for individuals or small ops, uses your phone).
From the dashboard, navigate to Channels → Add channel → WhatsApp Business. Choose Business API if you have a Meta Business account; otherwise pick Personal and follow the QR code prompt.
Once connected, all incoming messages will appear in Active chats. Assign an agent in Settings → Default agent.
Connecting Instagram
Instagram requires a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook page. Both are free to set up if you don't have them yet.
From dashboard: Channels → Add channel → Instagram → Connect via Meta. Approve the permissions, select your Instagram account and route to your agent.
Connecting Telegram
Telegram is the simplest. You'll create a bot via @BotFather, copy the token, and paste it into MyChatBot.
Step 1: Open @BotFather in Telegram and send /newbot. Follow the prompts.
Step 2: Copy the bot token and paste it into Channels → Add channel → Telegram → Bot token.
Done! Send a message to your bot, your AI agent will reply.
