Why start with a template

This guide walks through creating a sales agent from the e-commerce sales template. The same flow works for any template.
Pick a template
From the dashboard: Agents → Create agent → Browse templates. Filter by industry or use case.
For a sales agent, pick E-commerce Sales. It comes with proven sales scripts, objection handling and product recommendation logic.
Customize tone and persona
The default tone is professional-friendly. To match your brand, edit:
Persona, name, role, communication style
Tone of voice, formal / casual / playful / technical
Forbidden topics, what your agent should never discuss
Escalation rules, when to hand off to a human
Add skills
Skills give your agent specific capabilities. Common ones for sales:
Product catalog search, find products by description, attributes or image
Order status, let buyers check their order
Cart recovery, reach out to abandoned carts
Each skill takes 2-3 clicks to enable. Most are zero-config; some let you add custom prompts.
Test before going live
Always test before connecting to a live channel. The built-in test chat lets you simulate customer messages and see how your agent responds.
Common scenarios to test:
→ Happy path purchase flow
→ Out-of-stock product
→ Refund request (should escalate to a human)
→ Generic small talk (should redirect)
