Altegio Integration

Connect your MyChatBot AI agent directly with the Altegio platform.

Overview

The Altegio integration connects your MyChatBot AI agent to Altegio, the online booking and appointment-scheduling platform. Once connected, the agent can look up services, find open time slots, and book, reschedule or cancel appointments in your Altegio account right inside the conversation.

You will link an agent to an Altegio location. Before you start, have ready:

  • Partner Token, from your Altegio partner or developer access.
  • Branch ID, the company ID of the location in Altegio.
  • Chain ID, the chain that location belongs to.
  • Your Altegio login and password.
  • The MyChatBot agent that will take bookings.

Video demonstration

The video above walks through the setup and shows the integration in use. The steps below follow the same order.

Connect Altegio step by step

  1. Open the Integrations tab in your MyChatBot dashboard.
  2. Select the agent you want to connect to Altegio.
  3. Find Altegio in the integrations list and open it.
  4. Enter the Partner Token, Branch ID and Chain ID.
  5. When all three fields are filled, the Login to Altegio button becomes active. Click it and sign in with your Altegio login and password.
  6. After a successful login, the form adds the read-only User Access Token and Altegio User Name.
  7. Click Submit to save the integration.

You never type the User Access Token yourself: it is fetched when you sign in through Login to Altegio.

What the agent can do in Altegio

The agent decides when to use each ability based on the conversation and its instructions. You don’t need to name any tools.

  • List services, staff and promotions for the branch.
  • Find open time slots by service, staff member and date.
  • Recognize returning clients by checking past appointments when a client gives a phone number.
  • Book an appointment for the chosen service, staff member and time, with the client’s name and contact details.
  • Reschedule an appointment by editing its time, length, services or status.
  • Cancel an appointment the agent previously created.

Options that matter

One scheduler per agent. Altegio, Wlaunch and Google Calendar are mutually exclusive: connecting one disables the other two for that agent. Pick one source of truth for bookings.

The phone number is the client key. Availability, returning-client lookups and bookings all revolve around it, so have your agent ask for a phone number early.

Describe the booking flow in the agent instructions in plain language, for example:

  1. Ask which service the client wants and offer the list of services if they are unsure.
  2. Ask for a preferred date and, if they have one, a preferred staff member.
  3. Offer the available time slots for that service and date.
  4. Ask for their full name and phone number.
  5. Confirm the details, then book the appointment.

Add rules for changes too: when a client wants to move an appointment, update the existing booking rather than creating a second one; when they can’t make it, cancel and offer to rebook.

Common problems and fixes

  • Login to Altegio stays inactive. It activates only when Partner Token, Branch ID and Chain ID are all filled in.
  • User Access Token does not appear. Double-check the Partner Token, Branch ID and Chain ID, then try the login again.
  • Bookings point at the wrong location. Branch ID is the specific location, Chain ID is the parent chain. Check your location settings in the Altegio dashboard and correct the fields.
  • Altegio is grayed out. Wlaunch or Google Calendar is probably already connected to this agent. Disconnect it first.
  • The agent asks the client for a code. Some Altegio setups require confirming a new appointment with a code sent by SMS. The agent asks for it and finishes the booking once the client provides it. This is controlled in your Altegio account settings, not in MyChatBot.
